Lighted Ship Parade

After the Lighted Truck Parade passes Victoria’s Inner Harbour (approximately 6:30pm), the Lighted Ship Parade will begin. Boats of all sizes will sail through Victoria’s Inner Harbour, decorated with bright magical Christmas lights.

This is an event for the whole family to enjoy, so come down to Victoria’s Inner Harbour and enjoy the Christmas season festivities!

Island Farms Santa Light Parade

The Island Farms Santa Light Parade routinely draws crowds of more than 40,000 to the streets of Victoria to take part in a festive celebration of the winter holidays. Bring the family to Victoria’s annual Christmas parade and enjoy the dazzling floats and marching bands that travel along the magically lit Government Street from Victoria’s Inner Harbour to Chatham Street. Meet up at the Capital Iron parking lot for delicious treats courtesy of Island Farms.

This spectacular event will include performances by SingYourJoy Young Adult Chorus, James Bay Community School Choir, Reynolds Secondary School Carol Band and the St. Andrew’s Regional High School Choir.

Antimatter – Underground Film Festival

This underground film festival features and promotes experimental cinema from the western world. Films are chosen by a jury but the festival is non-competitive. Antimatter has been running since 1998 and is dedicated to the exhibition and nurturing of diverse forms of media art.

Salmon Run

The Salmon have arrived at Goldstream Park!

Visit Goldstream Provincial Park, located just outside Victoria on Highway 1, and witness a wonder of nature – the annual Salmon Run. Every Fall, thousands of Salmon swim upriver from the ocean to lay their eggs in the ideal spawning ground the park provides.

This event attracts many visitors throughout October and November, and makes for a great family outing. Watch the Salmon from the riverside, and while you’re there, visit the park’s nature house and enjoy the picturesque hiking trails.

Dine by candlelight! Restaurants across B.C. will be participating in the Candlelight Conservation Dinner dim the lights and turn up the ambiance to show how simple actions can save energy.

On October 24, 2013, each participating restaurant will be extending an exclusive discount or special offer on the night including anything from a free appetizer, to 2-for-1 entrées, featured menu items and other great deals.

As Halloween approaches, the Ghosts of Victoria Festival provides ghostly activities in Victoria, British Columbia’s most haunted place. The Ghosts of Victoria Festival is held over the last two weeks of October each year, with many activities to choose from.

2012 activities included Ghostly Walks, The “Original” Ghost Bus-tours, Haunted Trolley Tours, Ross Bay Cemetery Ghost Tour, “Voices from the Past” at St. Ann’s Academy, Spooky play at Craigdarroch Castle, Maritime Museum Ghost Tours, Pumpkin Art in Oak Bay and “Festival of Fear” at Galey Farms.
