Three Days Grace released their third album Life Starts Now on September 22. The album was recorded in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and reunites the band with producer by Howard Benson.

The definition of a rebel is someone who goes against the grain.  Damn the torpedoes!  Full speed ahead!  For nearly thirty years, Blue Rodeo has taken the road less traveled – and succeeded far beyond anyone’s expectations.  The band emerged in the early 80’s as a countrified rock band in the era of hair metal and glossy pop.  Despite sticking out like a sore thumb (or maybe because of it), their single “Try” became omnipresent on radio across Canada and set in motion a three decade long career of headlining every club, theatre and hockey arena in Canada.  In 1993, when grunge rock was squeezing commercial rock off the radio, they recorded their quietest album, Five Days In July, and scored their biggest hit selling over a half million copies of that one record alone.  And now, in the digital age, while everyone else is think of ways to sell single songs through the internet or snippets of songs on cell phones, Blue Rodeo has recorded a double album designed specifically to be enjoyed on vinyl.  Due for release on November 10, The Things We Left Behind, is the real deal.  Double gate-fold sleeve, 12 x 12 cover and two records, four distinct sides programmed to take the listener on a trip.

Blue Rodeo has delivered summer anthems and highway tunes, wedding songs and prom themes.  They’ve represented Canada musically at World Fairs and the Olympics, on late-night talk shows and in big Hollywood pictures.  You’ve heard them at hockey games and playing at the cottage down by the lake and yet, for all their success, for each listener they are confidantes. Close friends who tell important truths. Good buddies who get you smiling again.

Since the moment they appeared on the scene in the early 1990’s, Stone Temple Pilots dominated the decade from start to finish, racking up 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten, winning a “Best Hard Rock Performance” Grammy Award in 1994 for “Plush,” and having their five albums sell more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Of all their peers, Stone Temple Pilots alone had sustained commercial success, earning greater critical acclaim with each release, building a body of work that remains popular and its enduring acclaim has only highlighted the absence of the band, who quietly went their separate ways after the turn-of the millennium release of Shangri-La Dee Da. Despite the presence of the greatest hits album Thank You in 2003, there has been a generation that has never witnessed the live power of the vocalist Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz live in concert, a situation that will be remedied this summer when the band reunites for a long-awaited and highly anticipated tour.

The high-energy tour kicks off in Portland, Maine on October 4th and concludes in New Orleans on December 13th, covering 26 total U.S. and Canadian markets.  Steve Moore of MEG/AEG LIVE Nashville will promote the tour.

Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums since her 2002 debut.  Her current All I Ever Wanted release shattered Billboard records, when My Life Would Suck Without You jumped from #97 to #1 in its first week of release.  Concert attendees can expect to hear these latest hits including I Do Not Hook Up from the tour’s namesake album, along with her signature pop anthems.

“Make Your Summer Complete”

This Saturday, September 5th is your last chance to see the Fireworks show at Buthart Gardens for the Summer.  The fireworks begin at 8:45pm

Enjoy superb fireworks in The Gardens’ magnificent setting. Every summer Saturday night these lavish shows dazzle visitors with their unique blend of spectacle and music. Bring warm clothing and, if desired, a cover to sit upon the ground. Blankets are available for purchase on site.

After the show you will enjoy a recital from the rare Aeolian Pipe Organ situated in the loft of the Organ Pavilion. Originally this building was a barn used for the milking of cows kept on the property. Live performances are played on this wonderful old organ for a half hour following each Fireworks show. In Waterwheel Square you’ll find some live toe-tapping acoustic guitar music.

Consider a lovely summer Saturday picnic available on the Residence Lawn.
