Celebrating its 60th year, The National Ballet of Canada returns to Victoria with an evening of exciting mixed repertoire that has garnered awards and critical accolades. Pite’s Emergence received four Dora Awards when it premiered in 2009. Kudelka’s The Man in Black set to six Johnny Cash covers was reviewed as “surprisingly simple in its approach and genius in its outcome” (Dance Magazine). Forsythe’s the second detail has lived in NBoC’s repertoire since 1991 and has been called “a masterpiece” (Toronto Sun) in 2008.

Children’s Harvest Festival

ScarecrowChildren’s Harvest Festival Kicks Off Scarecrow Display

Victoria, BC. The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific is hosting the inaugural Children’s Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 11 AM to 3 PM. It will feature interactive stations on seed collecting, gourd bowling, apple tasting, musical pollination, clay pumpkin making, farm animals and much more designed to teach children the connection between growing, harvesting and eating. The event is free to children and buy donation to adults. It is also the kick off to the first Field of Scarecrows that will be on display at the Gardens until November 1.

Rifflandia Festival 2011
