Victoria Symphony Splash

Location: Victoria Inner Harbour at Belleville

This annual spectacular event transforms the Inner Harbour into an outdoor concert stage.

The Victoria Symphony Splash is the largest annual outdoor symphony event in Canada, attracting up to 40,000 Victoria residents and visitors. Along with the musical entertainment there will be an assortment of food vendors and souvenir stands. The concert by the Victoria Symphony will conclude with a performance of Tschaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with bells, cannons, and fireworks.

Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festivals 25th Anniversary

In the 25th year of outdoor Shakespeare theatre, the Victoria Shakespeare Society has produced 2 plays per summer with now hundreds of performances under their belt. This year pick your night to see either Romeo and Juliet or a Midsummers Night’s Dream. Go early to stake out your seats and take your own blanket and/or chair or borrow one of the limited blankets. A refreshment stand will be on site.

This annual community event celebrates visual arts within our community while representing artist from across Vancouver Island and British Columbia. This event continues to be one of the city’s largest outdoor event, providing visitors of all ages a unique opportunity to meet with a diverse range of well over 160 artists. This event is proud to have artists introducing people to the process of creating art, not just the final product. Many of the artists have interactive options to experience the use of their media and materials i.e. wood, stone, printing press, clay, charcoal, pastels and paints.

Victoria International Buskers Festival

Enjoy a night of funky afrobeat and sweet grooves followed by afro-funk party at the Copper Owl. Part of the Eventide Music Series: The 10-week long series will feature both local and touring bands every Thursday all summer.

Kárà-Kátà Afrobeat Group, from Vancouver, has been popularized by the full-power renditions of classic West African Afrobeat tracks as well as their own material. Afrobeat music blends funk, jazz, highlife, psychedelic rock, and traditional rhythms.

Good Old Daze in Mill Bay

This creative community event will be different from any other activity you will participate in this summer. Over 80, life sized, “People from the Past”, crafted by 46 local businesses and community groups competing for “Best Scarecrow.”

Some examples include a 1920s Prohibition saloon, complete with Al Capone, his fellow mobsters, and a moonshine still. Discover where sandwiches, popsicles, blue jeans and many other things we take for granted, actually originated.
