Royal BC Museums back courtyard will be transformed into an international food fair featuring some of the finest food trucks in Victoria. Pick up some of your favourite eats from local food trucks including DeadBeetz, Pig BBQ Joint, A Streetcar Named New Orleans, Puerto Vallarta Amigos, The Love Perogy and Wild West BBQ Salmon, and stop by our Truffles Catering station for a local beer or wine. Stay to enjoy the featured recycled and reused furniture and décor.

20th Annual Mother’s Day Paint In and Craft Fair

Royal Roads University is hosting their 20th annual Mother’s Day event in the beautiful Hatley Park National Historic Site. Highlights will include family entertainment, main-stage performances, children’s craft station and complimentary access to the gardens and Hatley Castle, with the opportunity to join a tour of the Hatley Castle. This outdoor community festival is expecting to welcome more than 3, 000 visitors.

Gold Rush! El Dorado in BC

In 1858 word spread of gold in the Fraser Canyon, setting off a dramatic migration of people and propelling this once remote region of western North America into the modern age. Through interactive displays, rare artifacts and an international perspective, this fascinating exhibition will showcase the far-reaching impact of the golf rush, as class and racial barriers were broken down and people seized the extraordinary opportunities that glittered before them.
Gold Rush! Includes the exclusive North American engagement of Allure of Gold, a companion exhibition of pre-Hispanic gold art, on loan from the Museo del Oro in Bogotá, Columbia. This collection showcases the central role this sacred metal occupied in the life of indigenous people in Columbia. This will be the only opportunity in North America to see these objects together, some of them on tour for the first time outside Colombia.

Victoria Annual Tartan Parade

Location: Centennial Square at Pandora and Douglas to The Legislature Lawns at 501 Belleville
The Annual Victoria Tartan Parade promotes the Victoria Highland Games that are occurring on the May long weekend. The parade will travel down Government Street to the Legislature Lawns where pipe bands will play, the highland flag will be danced and the caber will be tossed. Participants will include pipe bands, highland dancers, heavy event athletes, and members of a variety of local Scottish organizations and associated groups.

The 151st Victoria Highland Games & Celtic Festival will celebrate Scottish music, culture and arts. The association has promoted the highest standards in highland dancing, piping, drumming, athletics and Scottish culture over its history.
Other activities to look forward to over the games are the Clan Torchlight Ceremony, Whisky School and the Dry Stone Wall.
