Oak Bay Tea Party

Visit the 52nd year of the Oak Bay Tea Party; it is filled with fun activities that are perfect for the entire family!
The Mad Hatter Fun Run will begin around 10:15 am on Saturday, June 7. Enjoy the Oak Bay Tea Party Parade immediately after at 10:30 am. Furthermore, the Opening Ceremonies will transpire at 12:30 pm on Saturday.
On Sunday, watch a bathtub race (yes, with real bath tubs!) along the water at 1:00 pm. Moreover, there will be an airshow Sunday at 2:00 pm which includes skydivers and aircraft units. With several different activities and delicious food, there will be plenty of entertainment all weekend you will not want to miss!

International Kite Festival

Location: Clover Point
The International Kite Festival is located in a prime spot on Clover Point, just minutes away from downtown Victoria. Enjoy a weekend full of colourful kites flown by professionals from around the world. Being child-friendly, it is a perfect opportunity for the entire family to attend! Children are able to create their own kites and the family can relish in the open sky event later on.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome in support of the Victoria community affected by epilepsy. Please see their website for a detailed schedule of the weekend.
Oak Bay Half Marathon

Oak Bay is hosting the 10th annual Half Marathon run. Walk or run and enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

Bike to Work Week

Enjoy the beautiful weather Victoria has to offer and visit all of the iconic downtown tourist attractions with bicycles for the week. There are several places to rent bikes in Victoria! Please ask our friendly Front Desk staff for places to rent bikes.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Bike to Work Week, there will be an anniversary concert in Centennial Square during the week on May 31.

Swiftsure International Yacht Race

The Swiftsure International Yacht Race is organized by the Victoria Yacht club and will take place from May 24 – 26, 2014. The Swiftsure is one of the foremost long distance yacht races in British Columbia and the greater Pacific Westcoast region as a whole. Having made its debut in 1930, the Swiftsure continues to attract competitors and spectators from across the globe, and is considered an important race for sailors, and community members a-like.

Thursday May 22, 2014: Ship Point
2:00pm – 6:00pm: Swiftsure Center opens for registration
Friday May 23, 2014: Ship Point
10:00am – 6:00pm: Swiftsure Center open for registration
Saturday May 24, 2014: Clover Point (Central Saanich Lions Club)
8:00am: Pancake Breakfast
9:00am: First race starts (subsequent starts to follow at ten minute intervals). There will be many photo opportunities as the boats jockey for position between the breakwater and Brotchie ledge.
Sunday May 25, 2014: Ogden Point
Midnight- 6:00am: Yachts in the three Long Courses cross the finish line.

116th Island Farms Victoria Day Parade

Come and celebrate Victoria Day in B.C.’s capital with the 116th consecutive Island Farms Victoria Day Parade! This is Victoria’s largest parade event including marching bands, floats, clowns and more.
The whole parade will take at least 3 hours to pass by, so be sure to come prepared. The parade starts at Mayfair Mall at 9:00am and will proceed along Douglas Street, finishing at the intersection of Douglas and Humboldt Street.
This is a fun event for the whole family!

The 2014 Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival celebrates 151 years of Scottish Culture in Victoria, BC. For newcomers and longtime festival-goers alike, this celebration is a perfect time to enjoy and experience Scottish culture in BC.
The 151st Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival will take place over May long weekend at Topaz Park, May 17 to 18th, 2014.

- Amateur B and Novice heavy event competition

Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival

Entering its 87th year, the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival has a long and popular history in Victoria.
For six weeks, over five thousand Victoria-area performers and students of music, dance and dramatic arts will be on stage and adjudicated in music, dance and speech arts. Performances in Brass, Classical Guitar, Choral, Composition, Dance (Ethnic, School and Studio), Fiddle, Musical Theatre, Piano, School Bands, School Orchestras, Speech and Dramatic Arts, Strings, Vocal and Woodwinds by talented youngsters and adults take place daily throughout Festival.
