Victoria International Buskers Festival

Performers from Australia, the UK, South America, the US and from across Canada will meet in Victoria for ten days of incredible fun. Streets will be transformed into a backdrop of flame throwers, jugglers, unicyclists, magicians, circus performers and comedians. This event is a family oriented, free-to-attend festival presented on mostly outdoor stages across downtown Victoria.

TD Art Gallery Paint-In

On July 20, 2013 the TD Art Gallery Paint-In will be celebrating its 26th year. The Paint-In is a community outreach initiative featuring 150 invited professional and emerging artists from Victoria and surrounding areas. Various artists take their studios to the street to display and produce their work on Moss Street between Fort Street and Dallas Road.

Pacific Tattoo

What is a tattoo?
A tattoo (the military kind, as opposed to the inky, painful kind) is a demonstration of precision military drumming, piping or musical expertise.

The Pacific Tattoo will be coming to Victoria for the dates of July 13 and 14, 2013 with a new program of amazing pageantry, music and dance.

The production will include marching bands, drill teams, dance teams and skills demonstrations. International Bands from Australia and the Netherlands are scheduled to perform, as well as Police and Fire Service members.

10th Annual Vintage Cadillac Car Show

With close to a hundred cars, the show offers every variety of this luxury marque including the sleek roadsters of the ’30s, the ’50s classics (all pastels, fins and chrome), ambulances, hearses, custom jobs, low-riders and cutting-edge current models.

Northwest Deuce Days

Since 2000, Northwest Deuce Day has grown in popularity. This event was initially held in Victoria’s Oak Bay Village.

In 2002, the event was moved to Chilliwack and grew in size with over 80 1932 Fords in attendance.

In 2004, it moved back to Victoria and featured 127 1932 Fords. In 2007 the show featured over 400 1932 Fords! Because of the popularity of this event, it became a three day event and the event was changed to Northwest Deuce Days (from Day).

This year, there will be activities held on the Friday (July 19th), a Gala Banquet on the Saturday (July 20th) and the main attraction will be held on Sunday (July 21st) around Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

Canada Day

Victoria Celebrates Canada Day

Location: Legislature Lawns and Ship Point – Victoria, BC

To celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday, Victoria will be presenting an annual, family-friendly, multicultural celebration, featuring children’s activities, music performances, an international food village and spectacular fireworks over the Inner Harbour on July 1st.

Some of Victoria’s Canada Day Festivities to look forward to:
-     The Canada Day Kid’s Zone will return with plenty of interactive activities for the whole family on the Legislature Lawns including bouncy castles, mural
       paintings and more.
-     Main stage highlights on July 1st will transform the Legislature Lawns into a one-of-a-kind concert.
-     The ever-popular Living Flag will return, inviting 2000 participants to wear red or white T-shirts to form a human flag on the Legislature Lawns.
-     A Flavour of Canada will return with a two day international food village including family-oriented events at Ship Point.

Victoria Celebrates Canada Day will continue its “green” initiatives, including biodegradable vendors’ food containers, increased recycling opportunities on site and paper mache fireworks. Also returning will be the bike valet service, offering a safe place to lock up bicycles for those who want to take sustainable transportation to the event.

TD Victoria International JazzFest

Over 350 Musicians – Over 80 Performances – 13 Stages

The Victoria Jazz Society was founded in 1981 and produces two major multi-day music festivals every summer, TD Victoria International JazzFest and the Vancouver Island Blues Bash.

The TD Victoria International JazzFest (formerly known as JazzFest International) features over 350 musicians on stages in downtown Victoria with an attendance of over 35,000 people.  This event is a ten-day music festival featuring the jazz, blues and world music of local, Canadian, and internationally acclaimed musicians.

Since 1985, the TD JazzFest has been presented and produced by the Victoria Jazz Society and will celebrate it’s 29th anniversary in 2013.

Celebrate Our Harbour Day

Celebrate Our Harbour Day, is a day of activities held in the beautiful Victoria Harbour to show the diversity of activities and rich culture. This event will take place at Ships Point as well as at Songhees Point with a Harbour Ferry giving free rides to join the two venues.

Activities will include B.C. Maritime Maritime Museum’s Pirates Camp, a sand castle demonstration, dragon boat rides, kayak and canoe demos, Point Hope shipyard tours and much much more.
